Language and skills maintenance course for Russian teachers of English

Course dates for 2010:

November 2 ^nd — December 23 ^rd

Course aim:

To maintain the level of teacher's own language and to give an increased awareness of different methodologies and techniques that can be used in the classroom.

Course content:

Previous courses have covered such areas as:

• Mixed ability groups
• The Guided Discovery Approach
• Current controversies in EFL
• Listening — pre / post listening tasks
• 15 ways to use a text
• Creative writing activities
• Teaching higher / advanced levels
• Using stories and drama in the classroom

Length:

8 weeks

Time:

once a week (Thursdays), 3 academic hours with a 15 minute break

Schedule:

Course participants:

Russian English teachers who have teaching experience with adult groups and interested in developing their teaching skills and improving their level of English

Level of English required:

CAE (Certificate of Advanced English) or higher

Enrolment:

Interview with a course tutor.

Tutors:

The course is run by BKC-International House accredited professionals with a strong background in teaching and teacher training.
