In-house professional development programmes

BKC-IH Moscow puts a great emphasis on its teachers’ professional development. Apart from internationally recognized courses, such as Cambridge CELTA, Cambridge DELTA, the IH Foundation in Teaching Business English and the IH Certificate in Teaching YLs , we offer specialized courses and workshops for BKC-IH teachers on a regular basis, free of charge:

Monthly Development Seminars for all BKC-IH Moscow Teachers.

The majority of sessions are run by EMT (Educational Management Team) members though we warmly encourage teachers to share their ideas as well. Every month we try to cover a variety of topics such as:

  • Methodology
  • Language Awareness
  • Skills
  • Teaching YL
  • Teaching Teenagers
  • General Teaching Issues
  • Teaching Exam Classes
  • Ideas from the Classroom
  • Modern Languages (teaching Italian, Spanish, German, French)
Attending the monthly seminars is compulsory for all BKC-IH contract teachers. There is a coffee break between the sessions, when teachers can socialize with each other over a cup of tea or coffee and sandwiches. Every seminar day starts with a teachers meeting, where teachers can get the latest news from the company, as well as discuss their day-by-day problems with the school management.

There are two LA courses per year: October-December and January-March, which gives an opportunity for all the interested teachers to attend them.
