Methodology.

At BKC we have a communicative approach to Russian language learning. The Russian lessons are conducted in Russian only. Different skills are concentrated on (speaking, reading, writing and listening) and students are involved in carrying out certain tasks which require them to use Russian in a real and relevant way. Even when the emphasis is on grammar, pronunciation or vocabulary students are helped to communicate with each other in Russian to complete the task.
This methodology has been perfected over the years and BKC Russian teachers are free to practice it in a way that suits both their own style and the needs and interests of their Russian students.
From the beginning, in the classroom, you are taught to consider the Russian language as a means of cultural information exchange and real communication. When leaving the classroom you will have the skills to express yourself in Russian in a natural, meaningful way. It will also help you to make your trip to Russia richer with experience and opportunities.
Intensive Russian

Intensive Russian language courses at BKC- Globus are aimed at those who cannot stay for long in Moscow or have little time in order to do assimilate as much Russian as possible. It's a unique chance to study the Russian language in a short period of time. We provide intensive courses for you to learn some grammar points and develop conversational abilities. Maximum results in the minimum time.
This course offers 48 ac. hours per two weeks.
From complete beginner ("zero" level) to being able to communicate in the main everyday situation - "Meeting", "Transport", "Visits", "At a Stop", "Relaxation", "Sport" and many others.
This level provides you with the elementary language of Russian prepositions and the tense and aspect systems of the elementary level. Our approach is based on activating the vocabulary that is commonly used in typical everyday situations.
General Course
There is no better place in the world to study the Russian language as in Moscow, surrounded by Russian people, Russian places and Russian culture.
The full Russian language programme that will take you from Beginner to Advanced consists of 3 levels (192 academic hours each).
Throughout the course, the student will develop speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar skills. Classes consist of two sessions of three academic hours each per week.
Program of the General course.
The course is offered for all students from absolute beginners to advanced students. It consists of three main levels of 192 academic hours each. At each level, students receive information about the culture, history, geography, economics and political situation of Russia.
Level One
Beginners to Pre -Intermediate
192 academic hours
This level includes four sub-levels of 48 academic hours each. It incorporates all the necessary aspects needed to achieve basic knowledge of Russian, including useful, fundamental vocabulary, understanding and reading Cyrillic script, pronunciation practice, the study of basic grammatical structures and functional language needed for basic communication purposes.
At the end of this stage, students acquiring a reasonable comprehension and communicative competence in Russian are able to progress to the Intermediate level where they can master their spoken, interaction skills.
Level Two
Intermediate to Upper-Intermediate
192 academic hours
At this stage, attention is devoted to increasing students' range and complexity of Russian lexis and practicing functional language used in a variety of situations. Students also master basic grammatical structures and lexis, acquiring experience in expressing their ideas more freely in spoken and written form.
Level Three
Advanced
192 academic hours
In the final stage of this Russian language course, emphasis is placed on developing fluency in speech, studying a wide range of lexis, practicing and refining existing grammatical knowledge and studying more complex grammatical structures.
At the end of this level, students are given practice in and become comfortable with reading authentic Russian literary texts.
Business Russian
This Russian course was specially designed for executives, experts and senior staff from all sectors of business and industry, but it is also open to anyone wishing to learn how to communicate in business Russian.
Syllabus
The aim of this course is to train you for the use of Russian in business communication - at the same time improving your general Russian proficiency. You will learn how to communicate efficiently on the telephone, in meetings and in conferences within your company and with clients and suppliers. We will train you how to present facts and express an opinion, how to read and write business reports and letters and how to communicate in social situations.
Survival Russian
Just arrived in Moscow or Russia? Feeling lost and overwhelmed? Need to find a way to communicate in everyday Russian life? We are here to help…
If you feel totally lost in Russia then this is an ideal opportunity to become familiar with the Russian language in a communicative way.
From complete beginner you will be taught how to communicate in everyday situations. You will practice phrases to use in a shop, when you get acquainted, ask for directions, get a taxi etc.
Groups are small - between 5 and 10 people and lessons take place on Saturdays and Sundays 6 academic hours per day.

Level-Test
This test will help you find out your level of Russian.
You will be given 30 minutes to complete the test, after that the test will automatically finish and will then show you the results.
The test is in multiple-choice format and you should choose one of the three answers and proceed to the next question. It is structured so that the questions at the start of the test are fairly simple but the test gradually increases in difficulty.
Please be attentive and don't forget about the time limit. We wish you success!
