Teachers choose to start or further their career in BKC-International House because we are a well-established school with a large student base and excellent opportunities for professional development. Founded in 1991, we are now the biggest private language school in the former Soviet Union with approximately 9000 students a year. Key to this expansion and success are the individual teachers who have contributed their expertise and enthusiasm to giving their students the best possible learning experience. It is significant that the majority of new enrollments are the result of personal recommendations from existing or former students.

Courses

As a teacher in BKC-International House, you will have the chance to get involved in a wide range of course types. General English to adults, teenagers and children of all levels and ages from 3 years upwards is our main market but you could also be teaching in company, preparing students for international exams, teaching business courses etc. Normaly our teachers have a mixture of classes.

Support

Most teachers will need support dealing with such a diversity of groups so we have a large and well-trained Educational Management Team (EMT) whose purpose is to give teachers all the help they need in the classroom. Everyone has to start somewhere and indeed several of the EMT began their teaching career in BKC-International House.

Our Educational Management Team of over 15 Assistant Directors of Studies (ADOSes) provide support throughout the year, in conjunction with our in-house Teacher Training department. This includes free workshops and seminars which all teachers attend on one Saturday every month. BKC teachers can also take courses towards internationally-recognised teacher-training certificates at a discount.

Modern Languages (LOTE)

At our Globus school, teachers run classes in other languages, such as French, German, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Czech, Portuguese and Russian. BKC teachers can learn Russian in Globus at half the regular price.
