History
BKC-International House - A language school with more than a decade's experience in international employment and job vacancies in Moscow and Russia.
Established in 1990, BKC-International House has since grown into the largest language school in Moscow, in Russia and Eastern Europe. It is a well-organized and efficient company supporting a professional and successful language school. Over the last fourteen years we've been improving all the services aimed at providing our language students with quality language courses as well as our international teachers with excellent opportunities for professional development.

Teachers interested in working abroad
We have employment opportunities for both experienced and newly qualified language teachers. New teachers, interested in overseas jobs and employment, have the opportunity to travel to Russia and start their English teaching career in a country rich with culture and history.
If you are a new a teacher or an experienced teacher, interested in teaching English (or a foreign language), there is no better place for you to start than in Moscow. You will have the opportunity to taste a culture older than time itself traveling in Russia while gaining employment experience in our various language schools.

The majority of our Directors of Studies and Assistant Directors of Studies (BKC-IH Educational Management Team) come from the UK, Australia, Ireland and other English-speaking countries. They have experience as teachers in English language schools and are always there to help our teachers with their work.
Years with BKC-IH
We at BKC-International House believe that there is nothing more important to the success of a language school than the quality of its teachers. Therefore, we like our teachers to stay with us for as long as possible. Whether they want to travel in Russia, or learn to speak the Russian language, we try to accommodate and assist them in any way possible. Many of our teachers have been with BKC-IH for years. One example is Mick Calvet, BKC-IH teachers' representative, who has been with us since 1997.
Teacher development
The company gives its teachers substantial academic support. Our school offers a programme of regular language and teaching seminars and workshops to help teachers explore new areas of teaching and develop new skills. Our DOSes and ADOSes provide also advice and support to teachers in the form of face-to-face meetings, teaching observations and feedback.

From teacher to ADOS - growing in BKC-International House
We encourage our teachers to grow professionally. Many of those who started at BKC-IH as language teachers some time ago have subsequently been promoted to senior positions. Among these are Wayne Rimmer (current Director of Studies), Joanna Graham (currently a Trainer for IHCYL and CELTA), Sarah Bennett, Louise Duggan (both former ADOSes).
IH-transfer
Our teachers have the opportunity to transfer to one of 120 International House-affiliated schools throughout the world. Some teachers take the opportunity upon completion of their contract, while third of our contract teachers prefer to stay here in Moscow.
The transfer programme enables teachers interested in working abroad to stay with our company and transfer to a language school in a different country. Job vacancies and employment opportunities are advertised internally and teachers are helped and supported should they want to apply for an overseas position.
